Out of District Training

Purpose

This out of District training Guideline is established to provide the firefighters and other authorized District personnel with a consistent and viable procedure regarding attendance at out of District training classes.

Scope

The Out of District Training SOP is created to provide the Fire District with a consistent procedure for personnel interested in attending training classes with agencies outside the Fire District.

Responsibility

It shall be the responsibility of all Fire District personnel to ensure that the intent of this order be followed.

Procedure

Classes for training that is already offered in-house will not be funded unless previous arrangements have been made.

Advanced training, or training not available in District will be evaluated on an individual basis and will be determined by the Training Officer and/or staff in charge of medical and fire programs. Past participation in training and drills will have bearing on the final decision. Not everyone can always go to the training you want at the time you want it.
