WELCOME, AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN THE NESTUCCA RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT

We are a Community Resource Dedicated to Public Service Since 1949. As an organization we take a great deal of pride in the service we provide to the community. We are a combination department with both paid and volunteer staff. Our volunteers are the backbone of our District and provide the critical link in our service. These volunteers spend many hours donating their time and energy to training and responding to emergency calls. It takes a deep commitment to help others and become a volunteer. A great deal of sacrifice has been made by all of our volunteers to be able to meet the training standards for this job. Although the demands are vigorous, and the sacrifice substantial, the self satisfaction and the reward one feels from helping their community far outweighs the sacrifice.

Department Overview: Nestucca Rural Fire Protection District is a combination fire agency governed by a five-member elected Board of Directors. We provide fire, emergency medical services, water rescue, rope rescue, vehicle rescue, Haz-mat response, and other public services. We have 13 paid personnel, 1 administrative assistant, and 44 volunteers. The District maintains 6 stations and 24 emergency apparatus. We run a 48/96 crew shift schedule (48 hours on, 96 hours off).

Area Information: The district provides fire and emergency services to over 125 sq. miles of incorporated and over 225 sq. miles of unincorporated area in South Tillamook County. The north side of the district begins at MP 7 on Hwy 101 and continues east to MP 11 on Hwy 22. The south part of the district stops at the Lincoln County line on Hwy 101 at MP 101. We share borders and mutual aid with Tillamook Fire, Netarts-Oceanside Fire, Grand Ronde Fire, and North Lincoln Fire districts.

Population: The Nestucca Rural Fire Protection District is an all-hazards department that provides fire suppression, emergency medical service and public education to approximately 6,500 full time residents and in upwards of 30,000 tourists and visitors on any given week. We respond to more than 1,000 calls for service each year. We have six stations which are located in Pacific City, Beaver, Neskowin, Sandlake, Blaine, and Hebo.

Volunteer with us

If you are 18 years of age or older, and willing to dedicate yourself to protecting the lives and property of others, you are the type of person we are looking to train as a volunteer. If you are 16 to 18 years of age the Cadet program is an outstanding opportunity for you to become involved with the fire service even sooner. The Cadet program will also open the door for you to become an NFPA certified Firefighter 1 as soon as you turn 18.

In addition to outstanding training opportunities, self satisfaction, and pride, the District provides a wide variety of fun social activities, and some of the finest people you will ever meet. And, the opportunities for volunteering are not limited to firefighting. We have need for office support, public education, apparatus operators, emergency medical response and other support functions within the Fire District. If this sounds like something you would have pride in being a part of, please fill out the following forms and turn them into our administrative office in Hebo.
